Tallahassee, FL (NewsRadio 92.3) -- The judge overseeing the capital murder case against accused Florida State University shooter Phoenix Ikner has denied a defense motion to remove him from the case. The motion centered on a transcript from an unrelated twenty-twenty-five hearing in which Acting Circuit Judge Lance Neff described in detail how he personally would carry out a mass shooting based on his military experience. Defense attorneys argued the remarks could affect his impartiality in a case involving allegations of multiple weapons. Neff rejected the challenge within hours of its filing. Ikner's trial remains scheduled for October nineteenth in Leon County.
