The U.S. Department of Labor reports new jobless claims fell to about 57-hundred last week, down from nearly 58-hundred the week prior. Nationally, the number of Americans filing new applications for unemployment benefits rose by 22-thousand, to a seasonally-adjusted 242-thousand.
