Gulf Tropical Disturbance Expected to Develop This Week

Pensacola, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- A disturbance in the Gulf of Mexico now has a very high chance of development over the next week. Invest 92L is forecast to drift slowly to the North over the next few days and form a tropical storm. Direct impacts from the storm are expected somewhere along the Louisiana coast. It could become a hurricane by mid-week before it makes landfall. Forecasters do not believe the storm will directly threaten us here in Northwest Florida, although we could see increased rip current risks and more rainfall. The majority of the impacts are expected early next week.
