Gulf State Park Pier Reopens After Four Years

Baldwin County, AL (Newsradio 92.3) -- Baldwin County's pier at Gulf State Park reopens today. It's been closed for nearly four years since Hurricane Sally -- which damaged the pier right after a previous restoration effort had been completed. The pier will eventually include an observation deck, but that part isn't opening today. While the pier does open for the first time today, Baldwin County officials are calling it a "soft opening" and say a grand opening and ribbon cutting is planned for a later time.
