Gulf Breeze Man Held Without Bond After Allegedly Kidnapping 71-Year-Old in Multi-State Case

Gulf Breeze, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- A Gulf Breeze man is facing kidnapping charges in both Alabama and Florida after allegedly forcing a 71-year-old acquaintance to travel with him from Gulf Breeze to Foley against his will. Foley Police arrested 42-year-old Grant Barrett Friday afternoon after locating him and the unharmed victim. Barrett is charged with second-degree kidnapping, marijuana possession, and criminal mischief. The Santa Rosa County Major Crimes Unit is coordinating with Foley detectives and additional charges are pending in Florida. Barrett is held without bond.
