Pensacola, FL (Newsradio 92.3) --Florida has seen a significant decline in abortions from last year. State data shows 17,377 abortions were reported as of June 2nd -- that's 45-percent fewer than a comparable period in 2024. The decrease comes after a law was enacted in May of last year that prohibits most abortions after six weeks of pregnancy. The majority of this year's cases occurred in the first trimester, while just over one hundred were second-trimester procedures, with reasons including fatal abnormalities and serious health conditions for the women involved.
