FLORIDA GAS PRICES DROP

Florida gasoline prices are beginning to drop after a 15-cent spike last week, AAA-The Auto Club Group reports. By yesterday (Sunday), the state average went back down to $3.43 from $3.46 — the highest average of 2024. AAA spokesperson Mark Jenkins said the high pump prices were due to a switch to summer fuel, which is more costly, and added that this could pause the price hike. Crude oil futures declined nearly $2 per barrel last week. Gasoline futures dropped 9 cents. Average prices in our area include Crestview-Fort Walton Beach at ($3.16), and Pensacola at ($3.21).
