Firefighters Put Out Chemical Fire at Local Company

Escambia County, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- Escambia firefighters put out a chemical fire at the Pall Corporation on Ely Road yesterday. The fire broke out in a shed behind their building and involved nitrocellulose -- which is a highly flammable chemical. Escambia Fire Rescue was able to contain the fire to the shed. Hazmat units assisted on the scene as well. The building was evacuated, and no injuries were reported. Pall Corporation's website says they provide filtration, separation, and purification products and serve the industrial, food, beverage, oil, and gas industries.
