Fifth Named Storm of Season Forms Over Atlantic

Escambia County, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- The fifth named storm of the Atlantic Hurricane season has now formed -- Tropical Storm Ernesto formed yesterday over the Atlantic Ocean. The storm is expected to bring heavy rain to the Leeward Islands, Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico today. The storm is expected to strengthen into a hurricane over the Atlantic. It's moving to the west, forecasters believe it will take a turn to the north and not enter the Gulf of Mexico.
