FEWER ESCAMBIA STUDENTS TAKING ADVANTAGE OF NATIONAL FLIGHT ACADEMY/STARBASE

Escambia County's commissioners want to get more kids onboard NAS Pensacola for STEM programs like STARBASE. Escambia County Commissioner Lumon May says he wants to see more kids from poverty-stricken schools in his district take advantage of the programs available. The commissioners talked with retired Rear Admiral Kyle Cozad this morning -- he says the only cost to the school district is bussing kids to and from NAS Pensacola to participate. Commissioners discussed potentially using ECAT if the school district couldn't provide transportation.
