(Tampa, FL) -- Tampa's mayor is part of a panel recommending changes to FEMA. Mayor Jane Castor sits on the FEMA Review Council that submitted its suggestions to Congress yesterday. The report includes recommendations to reduce inefficiency and bureaucracy and provide more support for victims and local governments. The report calls for FEMA to provide immediate relief by basing damage assessments on population size, the number of businesses and density. Castor says FEMA has become a bureaucratic quagmire through the years, and this report will hopefully remove a lot of the frustration that Americans have experienced in what might be the worst moment in their lives.
