Escambia Woman Convicted on Attempted Murder Charge

Pensacola, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- An Escambia County jury convicted a woman of attempted second-degree murder and robbery with a firearm after she shot her ex-boyfriend over alleged "inappropriate pictures" on his phone. Alexis Dwiggins-Edison was initially charged with attempted first-degree murder. Prosecutors said she demanded the victim's phone, claiming it contained compromising images of her.... and when he refused to comply, prosecutors say she shot him multiple times. Dwiggins-Edison is scheduled for sentencing on October 28. Her boyfriend, Levarion Howard, is also charged in the case, he is facing charges of attempted first-degree felony murder and robbery with a firearm, with his trial set for November 13.
