ECSO: Social Media Threat on Escambia Schools Not Believed to be Valid

A social media threat to several Escambia County schools was reported early this morning.

Escambia Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Andrew Hobbs confirms law enforcement is investigating and does not believe the threat to be valid. They are still investigating the source of the threat on social media.

The school district says they will use every legal means available to make sure there are consequences for the person that posted the threat. You will see an additional law enforcement presence in schools today.
