A 27-year-old SUV driver was hospitalized after a crash with a semi-truck yesterday afternoon in Escambia County. The crash happened around 12:40 p.m. at the intersection of North Blue Angel Parkway and Mobile Highway. Florida Highway Patrol states an SUV was stopped due to a flashing red signal, while a semi-truck was approaching. A pickup truck pulling a trailer was also stopped at the intersection. The SUV attempted to cross the intersection while the semi-truck was entering the intersection, resulting in an angled collision, according to FHP. After the collision, the semi collided with the pickup truck pulling a trailer. According to Escambia County Fire Rescue, units arrived to find the SUV driver -- a 27-year-old Loxley, Alabama woman -- trapped in her vehicle. After the driver was pulled from the wreck, the driver was transported to the hospital with minor injuries, according to FHP. No other people involved were injured.
