Pensacola, FL (NewsRadio 92.3) -- The National Weather Service in Mobile is warning of a dangerous flash flooding risk for our area today through Friday. Remnants of Tropical Storm Arthur are pumping tropical moisture into the region, with an additional six to twelve inches of rain expected — and locally fifteen inches or more possible. The greatest flooding threat is today. Severe storms capable of isolated tornadoes and damaging winds are also possible. On the coast, life-threatening rip currents and five-to-seven-foot surf are possible through Friday. Officials say if you get a wireless emergency alert for flash flooding — take it seriously. Never drive through flooded roads.
