Century Approves Design for Carver Center Remodel

CENTURY APPROVES REMODEL DESIGNS FOR CARVER COMMUNITY CENTER -- David Wayne

Century, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- The town council in Century has approved the plans for the remodel of the historic Carver Community Center. The town received grant money in April of 2022 for work on the Carver Center, as well as the Century Community Center on Highway 4....however work on that building will have to wait as the town is diverting all the money to go towards the Carver Center building. They say construction costs have increased drastically. The Carver Center has advanced termite damage and deterioration -- the renovations are expected to cost around $3.25 million-dollars. The design will be similar to the current building layout, with a historical display area in the lobby, a large multipurpose room, three meeting rooms, offices, and a kitchen. The restrooms will also be accessible from outdoors and available for those using a nearby playground.
