Brewton Police Officer Dragged by Man Fleeing Traffic Stop

Brewton, AL (Newsradio 92.3) -- A man has been arrested in Brewton after allegedly dragging a police officer with his vehicle while attempting to flee. According to police, the incident began with a traffic stop. After officers smelled marijuana, they asked Tyrees Harris to exit the vehicle. At that point officers say Harris fled, dragging one of the officers for a short distance. He was eventually apprehended following a high-speed chase that extended into Conecuh County. The officer was taken to DW McMillan Hospital and has since been released.
