Anderson Subaru Surpasses $215,000 in Donations to Pensacola Breast Cancer Association

Pensacola, FL (NewsRadio 92.3) -- Anderson Subaru has crossed a significant milestone in its partnership with the Pensacola Breast Cancer Association — surpassing $215,000 in total donations since the two organizations joined forces in 2014.
The latest contribution — $39,000 raised through this year's Subaru Share the Love event — marks one of the dealership's largest single-year donations to the cause. The annual program runs from mid-November through the end of each year and allows customers to direct a donation to a charity of their choice. Anderson Subaru has chosen the Pensacola Breast Cancer Association as its local partner every year since 2014 — and matches every customer donation dollar for dollar.
President Billy Anderson says the partnership grew out of something personal. Several members of the dealership's staff have dealt with breast cancer and the team felt strongly about supporting an organization close to home. He says the dealership's growth over the years has allowed it to give more — and that serving the Pensacola community is something the whole team takes pride in.
Pensacola Breast Cancer Association Vice President Barbara Dean says the sustained support from Anderson Subaru has done more than raise funds — it has given the all-volunteer organization the confidence and resources to launch new programs. She called the dealership an inspiration.
The Pensacola Breast Cancer Association has several fundraising events coming up for those who want to get involved. Bowling for Boobies takes place in September — teams are welcome to register for a day of friendly competition. The Ribbons of Hope breast cancer charity ball is scheduled for October with tables available for purchase. All proceeds go back directly into the community.
