SSA Payments Increase Next Month

The Social Security payment schedule has returned to normal this month. These will be the last payments before the 2.8% cost-of-living increase takes effect in January. This monetary update will impact 75 million Americans, including about five million Floridians, who can expect an average monthly increase of $56 next year.

THE ARGO PANTRY SUPPLIES FOOD TO UWF STUDENTS

The Argo Pantry at the University of West Florida is broadening its efforts to supply groceries to students. In November, there were 240 visits. All students can pick up supplies from the pantry once per week without needing to fill out any forms or answer questions. According to university officials, the main objective is to allow students to concentrate on their studies.

THE COUNCIL ON AGING NEEDS WINTER ITEMS

The Council on Aging of West Florida is accepting donations of new electric space heaters, blankets, and monetary contributions to assist older adults. Electric heaters and blankets may be delivered to Council on Aging of West Florida at 875 Royce Street. Financial donations can be made online or sent directly to Council on Aging of West Florida.
