ESCAPED INMATE CAPTURED -- David Wayne
Escambia County, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- The escaped work-release inmate that briefly caused a school lockdown yesterday is back in jail. The Escambia County Sheriff's Office says 44-year-old Justin Thompson was arrested -- within one hour of escaping on Tuesday afternoon. The incident led to a lockdown at Beulah Middle School. So far there's no word on exactly how Thompson was able to walk away from his work detail. He had been in jail since the beginning of the year on several felony charges. Thompson was previously accused of stealing a trailer with items inside, possession of meth, and smuggling contraband into the county jail. Officials say he'll now likely face additional charges for the escape.
