Milton Says City Data Secure After Suspected Ransomware Attack Last December

Milton, FL (NewsRadio 92.3) -- The City of Milton is disclosing a suspected ransomware attack that was detected on December twenty-sixth of last year. The city says it immediately secured its network, notified authorities, and brought in cybersecurity professionals and law enforcement to investigate. After a full investigation, the city says there is no indication that any city information was accessed, copied, or leaked. Additional security upgrades have since been implemented. The city says it met all required notification obligations under Florida law.
