Warm start to the week with brief shower chance Monday

North Escambia can expect above-normal temperatures to kick off the work week, with a slight chance of afternoon showers Monday before conditions clear out.

According to the National Weather Service forecast for the area, Monday will see a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., with highs climbing near 91 degrees. Winds will be calm, becoming northeast around 5 mph.

Monday night, any shower activity should wrap up, with partly cloudy skies and lows around 72 degrees. Calm winds are expected to continue overnight.

If you're planning outdoor activities, the window between late morning and early afternoon might be worth watching, but the showers look to be scattered and brief. The warm, humid pattern looks to hold through at least the start of the week.
