UWF partners with Red Sox Foundation to launch military wellness program

The University of West Florida is launching a new military wellness initiative through a partnership with Home Base Florida, a program run jointly by the Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital. The collaboration brings Home Base's Warrior Health and Fitness program to UWF's Pensacola campus, expanding mental health and fitness support services available to military-connected students and veterans in the community.

Home Base Florida specializes in helping military service members, veterans, and their families address physical injuries, mental health challenges, and overall wellness through evidence-based programming. The Warrior Health and Fitness program combines clinical care with fitness and wellness activities designed specifically for the military population.

UWF, which serves a significant population of military-connected students given Pensacola's proximity to NAS Pensacola and other military installations, said the partnership strengthens its commitment to supporting veterans' transition to civilian life and higher education. The program is expected to be available to eligible students and community members through UWF's campus.
