USPS Operation Santa opens adoption registration for holiday gift-giving

The U.S. Postal Service has opened registration for Operation Santa, its annual program connecting people in need with donors willing to fulfill their holiday wishes. Northern Florida residents and organizations can now sign up to adopt letters at USPSOperationSanta.com, according to a USPS announcement Wednesday.

Prospective adopters must complete an ID verification process before participating. Letter adoption officially begins Monday, Nov. 16, and gifts must be shipped by Saturday, Dec. 12. The USPS encourages companies and community groups to form teams and adopt entire households together, ensuring families can share in the holiday giving.

Once approved, adopters can browse letters posted on the Operation Santa website, select gifts, and either shop independently or use Santa's Gift Shoppe—powered by Toys"R"Us—which allows direct shipping to recipients. All gifts can be mailed from any participating Post Office location or ordered through the online catalog.

Operation Santa, now in its 114th year, began accepting letters Sept. 14. The program has historically generated thousands of holiday wishes from families and children in need across the country. For more details, visit USPSOperationSanta.com.
