Pensacola, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- New details have emerged in the arrest of a man accused of planning a mass shooting at a New Orleans festival. The suspect has now been identified as Christopher Gillum of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He was taken into custody at a Destin hotel Wednesday after federal authorities tracked his movements using Okaloosa County's Flock camera system. Deputies recovered a handgun and about 200 rounds of ammunition from his hotel room. Gillum is wanted in Orleans Parish for terroristic threats and authorities say he planned to shoot festival attendees and then be killed by police. Gillum was a Chapel Hill police officer from 2004 to 2019. He is being held pending extradition to Louisiana.
