TRUCK/TRAIN CRASH ON E NINE MILE

A pickup truck was hit by a train yesterday -- and luckily the driver was not seriously hurt. It happened at the crossing on East Nine Mile Road east of Highway 29 and North Palafox. There were no passengers in the truck. The train's engine did sustain some damage from the crash, but there were no injuries onboard. A witness on the scene stated the warning lights and crossing gates did not activate until the train was at the crossing. The crash is still under investigation.
