Sex Offender Sentenced for Violation of Probation

Escambia County, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- An 84-year-old sex offender has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for violating his probation. Carl Wayne Castleberry was originally convicted in 2019 of lewd or lascivious conduct for abusing a young female relative. He served over four years in state prison and was released in August 2022 to serve 25 years of sex offender probation. According to prosecutors, his probation officer discovered in October 2025 that Castleberry had been viewing pornography, which violated his probation conditions. He was sentenced Tuesday for the violation.
