SCHOOL SAYS THE PLANNED HALF-DAY WILL NOW BE A FULL-DAY

Escambia County Public Schools is canceling a planned early release day next month. This comes after two school cancelations in the first days of the second semester. The district says schools and district offices will now be open for a full day on February 7th as they try and make sure to meet their state-mandated instructional minutes requirement. School superintendent Keith Leonard says everything will run as normal that day, including extracurricular activities, transportation, and food services.
