Scattered Thunderstorms Expected Sunday, Heat Continues

The Pensacola area is in for a typical summer day Sunday, with afternoon thunderstorms possible and temperatures climbing toward 90 degrees. The National Weather Service forecasts a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms developing after 10 a.m., with partly sunny skies expected otherwise. Winds will start light from the east before shifting south during the afternoon.

Sunday night should clear out somewhat, with partly cloudy conditions and a low around 72 degrees. Residents heading out early in the day should have clear conditions, but those planning afternoon activities may want to keep an eye on developing storm chances. The heat and humidity will remain typical for this time of year across the Escambia and Santa Rosa County areas.
