MILTON, FL (NewsRadio 92.3) -- Santa Rosa County residents now have a dedicated phone line for questions and concerns about Hurricane Isaias debris removal as crews continue working through an estimated 1.8 million cubic yards of storm debris.

The county opened its Debris Removal Information Line Friday morning.

Residents can call 833-495-3919 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week.

The line can be used for questions about debris pickup, proper placement of storm debris, the overall collection process or to report a problem or concern.

Santa Rosa County says debris removal will continue for several weeks.

As of Thursday, crews had collected more than 350,000 cubic yards of vegetative debris, along with more than 100 cubic yards of construction and demolition debris.

That's up by approximately 100,000 cubic yards from the county's Tuesday update.

Santa Rosa estimates Hurricane Isaias generated approximately 1.8 million cubic yards of debris, with removal projected to cost about $23 million.

The county is also emphasizing that there is no predetermined number of collection passes.

Three passes are typical following a storm, but officials say the amount of debris generated by Isaias is significantly greater than normal.

Crews will make as many passes as necessary to collect eligible storm debris.

Residents will receive advance notice before the county begins its final pass, giving property owners time to get remaining storm debris to the roadside.

The county asks residents to place debris near the road without blocking travel lanes, drainage systems, fire hydrants, mailboxes or utility equipment.

Different types of debris should also be separated to make collection more efficient.

Santa Rosa's new Debris Removal Information Line is 833-495-3919.

Additional debris information is available through Santa Rosa County's hurricane recovery website.
