Rainy stretch ahead for Pensacola area through weekend

A wet weather pattern is moving into the Pensacola area, with rain expected to increase Thursday and persist through Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.

Thursday afternoon will see showers and thunderstorms likely between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., with conditions worsening Friday and Saturday. The heaviest rainfall is expected Friday and Saturday, when locally heavy downpours are possible. A few of the stronger storms could produce strong wind gusts, so residents should monitor conditions closely.

High rain chances are forecast to continue into Sunday as the wet pattern settles over the region. Those with outdoor plans should prepare for frequent showers and thunderstorms over the next several days and consider bringing activities indoors when possible.
