Developers looking to build a six-story extended-stay hotel in downtown Pensacola are hitting a snag over the issue of parking. Kerioth Corporation plans to build the Homewood Suites at 801 E Gregory Street. Hilton requires 132 parking spaces for every room, but there's only enough space on the property for 111 spaces. They asked the Pensacola Planning Board to approve a plan to build the 21 needed spaces on a public right-of-way at 13th Avenue and DeLeon Street. Ultimately the Planning Board was split 2-2. The City Council could take up the issue next month and make a final decision.
