PPD Arrest Man After He Tries to Run Into Bay

PPD PULL SUSPECT FROM THE BAY -- David Wayne

Pensacola, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- Pensacola Police say the man who attempted to run from officers and fled into the bay has been taken into custody without further incident. Officers launched a water rescue from the 17th Avenue Boat ramp around quarter-till 10 this morning. PPD says the suspect attempted to fight officers, then ran around 100 yards into the water in a bid to escape. Charges or the identity of the suspect have not yet been released.
