Pensacola, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- The next Pensacola mayor won't be getting a big pay raise after all. City Councilman Charles Bare withdrew his proposal Thursday that would've bumped the mayor's salary by $34,000. Bare wanted to use the same state formula that sets school superintendents' salaries. That would've brought the mayor's pay to about $168,000 dollars a year. But when other council members like Casey Jones and Allison Patton said they didn't support it, Bare pulled the proposal. The mayor's salary will remain at $134,000, where it's been since 2022.
