Pensacola's Blue Wahoos launch book-gifting tradition at Sacred Heart pediatrics

The Pensacola Blue Wahoos are kicking off what they hope becomes an annual tradition by distributing books to every child in the pediatric unit at Studer Children's Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart.
The gesture coincided with National Read a Book Day, with the team's mascot Kazoo visiting the hospital to hand out the books and interact with young patients. The initiative combines two community priorities: supporting children's health and encouraging literacy.
According to WKRG News 5, the Blue Wahoos are using their platform to make a direct impact on kids in the Pensacola area during their hospital stays. Hospital officials and the team haven't yet announced whether the book-giving will continue annually, but organizers framed it as the start of an ongoing commitment.
