Pensacola Police Say Langley Avenue Shooting Could be Stand Your Ground Case

Pensacola, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- An update on the shooting on Langley Avenue -- Pensacola police have identified the victim that died as 21-year-old Jamir Jackson of Pensacola. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital after officers responded to the shooting early Sunday morning. According to PPD, the preliminary investigation shows the incident could constitute a stand your ground case. A second individual at the scene had been "pistol-whipped." There's no word on injuries for that victim. Officials say the incident is still being investigated by detectives and more information will be released as it becomes available. Police do say there is no threat to the community in this case.
