Pensacola police spokesman Mike Wood says this week's deadly SWAT raid in North Carolina where four police officers were killed is a prime example of the dangers that officers face on a regular basis. One suspect was killed after a shootout with officers -- when a second person opened fire on officers with a high-powered rifle from inside the home. Wood says it also shows that officers need the military-style weapons, uniforms, and armored vehicles they are often criticized for using. He says PPD has an armored BEARCAT on order for their swat team now.
