Pensacola Mardi Gras 2027 Season Kicks Off in January; Planning Meetings Start This Month

Pensacola Mardi Gras has unveiled its full 2027 calendar, with the season launching Jan. 2 and running through Fat Tuesday on Feb. 9. The announcement comes as organizers invite the community to two free City-Wide Planning Meetings where Krewes and local businesses can coordinate events and share updates for the upcoming celebration.

The first planning meeting is set for Thursday, Oct. 22, at Apple Annie's in Seville Quarter, with doors opening at 5 p.m. A second meeting follows Nov. 19 at the same location. Both events are free and open to media and the public. Founder and President Danny Zimmern will moderate an overview of the season, followed by an open floor for participants to discuss their roles in the festivities.

The marquee events include the Pensacola Grand Mardi Gras Parade on Saturday, Feb. 6, which typically draws more than 100,000 people downtown, along with the Krewe of Lafitte Illuminated Parade, the Pensacola Beach Krewe of Wrecks Parade, and five Second Line Tuesdays throughout the season. The Mardi Gras Mambo — billed as a ball-meets-concert experience — will take place at the Pensacola Bay Center on Feb. 4, with headliners and entertainment to be announced. The Ice Flyers are returning as the season's presenting sponsor, and J's Bakery will bring back king cakes starting Jan. 4. The season wraps with the French Quarter Fat Tuesday Celebration at Seville Quarter on Feb. 9.
