PENSACOLA MAN HURT ON CHRISTMAS EVE CRASH

A Pensacola man spent Christmas fighting for his life in a local hospital after being hit by a wrong-way driver on I-110 early on Sunday morning. The crash happened just before 5 AM on Sunday. The Florida Highway Patrol says a man driving a Ford Sedan was headed north in the Southbound lanes when he hit an SUV driven by 38-year-old Sam Kollar, setting off a chain reaction with another vehicle also smashing into Kollar's vehicle. The driver of the wrong-way car died at the scene of the crash. Channel 3 talked with Sam Kollar's wife -- she says he is not able to walk. On Christmas, she says she was able to continue their tradition of kissing under the mistletoe by holding up a photo of the mistletoe over his hospital bed. The driver of the third vehicle involved wasn't hurt in the crash.
