Pensacola, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- Three thousand people participated in a veterans town hall hosted by Congressman Jimmy Patronis Tuesday night, with access to timely healthcare and benefits topping the list of concerns. Veterans overwhelmingly voted for Patronis to focus on expanding medical care access for veterans and increase benefits for military families. Many people expressed frustration with having to travel to Biloxi for VA care -- Patronis said the best option would be to expand access to community care programs, because it would cost too much and take too long to build a VA hospital locally. Patronis also pledged to pursue solutions for congestion on Highway 98 near Hurlburt Field.
