Santa Rosa County, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- We are learning more about the reported exchange of gunfire in Milton yesterday -- the Santa Rosa sheriff's office says it happened on the 79-hundred block of Kamie Court. Investigators say three Pensacola men, including one juvenile had traveled to the home to buy drugs when Noah Hoffman attempted to rob them with a firearm. That ended with an exchange of gunfire between the men in the vehicle and the suspect. The men in the vehicle drove away and were stopped at a nearby grocery store. Deputies say Hoffman barricaded himself in the residence, and the SRSO SWAT team responded -- but Hoffman attempted to run out the back door as they were preparing to enter the house. He surrendered to a K9 officer in the backyard. Deputies say they recovered firearms believed to be involved from the residence and the vehicle.

Hoffman faces multiple charges including robbery, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm by a felon. Charges are being considered for the other people involved as the investigation continues.
