OKLAHOMA RAPE SUSPECT ARRESTED AT PENSACOLA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

A man wanted out of Oklahoma for allegedly raping and sexually assaulting his roommate was arrested in Pensacola last week. 32-year-old Samuel Shields, who was wanted by the Tulsa Police Department, was arrested at Pensacola International Airport on Mar. 16 after officers say they received a tip that he quit his job and was planning on leaving the country. The Tulsa Police Department says Shields came under investigation after his roommate reported that she was raped and sexually assaulted by him back in January. Tulsa police say Shields refused to cooperate with the investigation, resulting in a warrant being issued for first-degree rape on Mar. 15. When Shields was located at Pensacola International Airport, police say he was holding a boarding pass for San Juan, Puerto Rico. Police say TSA questioned Shields and he was taken into custody and booked into the Escambia County Jail. He is currently being held on no bond, awaiting extradition to Tulsa, Oklahoma.
