OKALOOSA GIRL BITTEN BY GATOR

An investigation is ongoing after an alligator bit a girl in Okaloosa County, according to Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC). FWC tells WEAR News that its officers were notified on June 22 of an incident involving an alligator bite at Pond Creek in Okaloosa County. Preliminary information indicates a juvenile female was bitten on her thigh by an alligator while wading in the creek. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for medical attention. No further details were released.
