No Charges Filed After Weekend Shooting Incident

Escambia County, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- No charges were filed against a woman involved in a shooting on Castlegate Drive over the weekend. The Escambia Sheriff's Office says they were called to the home around 4 am on Saturday morning. A man had been shot in the face. A woman was at the home and said she had been invited over by the man, who then called a Lyft driver and started acting strangely. She said that the two struggled after he pulled a gun on her, and during the struggle the gun went off and he was hit in the face. Investigators say the woman's actions were in self-defense and no charges will be filed against her.
