Fairhope's Magnolia Beach restoration finished after years of erosion

After years of watching waves chip away at its shoreline, Fairhope, Alabama has completed a major restoration project at Magnolia Beach. The work addresses significant erosion that had been steadily reshaping the Eastern Shore landscape, according to the city's engineer Richard Johnson.

Visitors to the beach will notice visible changes along the waterfront as the restoration work wraps up. Johnson indicated the project was overdue, given the pace at which the Gulf's waves and tidal action had been eating into the beach.

The completion marks the end of what city officials had identified as a critical need to stabilize and protect one of the area's popular recreational spots. The restored shoreline should provide better protection against future erosion while restoring access and appeal to the beach.
