Navy Chief of Staff Ousted in Shakeup Following New Under Secretary Confirmation

Washington, DC (Newsradio 92.3) -- Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has removed Jon Harrison from his position as Chief of Staff of the Secretary of the Navy, following the confirmation of Hung Cao as the new Navy Under Secretary. A Pentagon spokesman expressed gratitude for Harrison's service but did not disclose further details about the decision. Harrison was appointed by the Trump administration and had worked closely with Navy Secretary John Phelan to streamline Navy policies and budgets. However, sources indicated that his attempts to limit Cao's role and reassign aides may have led to his dismissal. Hegseth has been active in reshaping the Pentagon leadership this year, having previously fired several top aides and uniformed leaders, including the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Chief of Naval Operations.
