Navarre Beach Fire Station 49 evacuated, unstaffed starting Friday afternoon

Navarre Beach Fire Rescue will evacuate and leave unstaffed Fire Station 49 beginning at 3 p.m. today, according to a news release from the department.

The evacuation affects one of the fire rescue's operating stations, though NBFR has not yet detailed the reason for the closure or how long it's expected to last. Residents in the Navarre area may see response times affected depending on the station's role in coverage for the district.

NewsRadio Pensacola is working to learn more details about the evacuation and any alternative coverage plans NBFR has in place.
