Mobile hosting hazardous waste collection event Sept. 26

The City of Mobile is inviting residents to drop off household hazardous materials at an upcoming collection event next month. According to a city news release, the event runs Saturday, September 26th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Seals Community Center. The collection gives residents a safe way to dispose of items like old paint, chemicals, batteries, and other potentially harmful household products that shouldn't go in regular trash. If you're in the Mobile area and need to get rid of hazardous materials responsibly, this is your chance to do it free of charge.
