Milton, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- Santa Rosa County officials scored a win for Milton drivers this week when the Florida-Alabama Transportation Planning Organization voted unanimously to move the widening of US Highway 90 through downtown Milton from seventh to fourth on its regional priority list. Milton Mayor Heather Lindsay and Commissioner Kerry Smith led the push with three other Santa Rosa commissioners in attendance. The project would four-lane US 90 from State Road 87 north across two bridges to Ward Basin Road. FDOT says the higher ranking will factor into its next five-year work program review. Smith says the county plans to offer property it owns along the corridor to FDOT as right-of-way to further strengthen the project's chances of funding.
