Milton Man Charged After Fatal Shooting During Gun Play

Milton, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- Some more details are coming in about a fatal shooting in Santa Rosa County over the weekend. Officials say a Milton man has been charged with negligent manslaughter after he accidentally shot and killed his best friend over the weekend. 21-year-old Cameron Keys was arrested Saturday and released Monday on 100-thousand dollar bond. The victim is 22-year-old Tyler Caraway-Appleby. According to the arrest report, home surveillance video shows several people sitting on a couch early Saturday morning handling guns without proper safety precautions. The video captured Keys loading a magazine into his weapon and charging it before Caraway-Appleby was shot. Keys told detectives he didn't remember much except hearing the gunshot and hitting his best friend. He insisted it wasn't intentional.
